Singapore Geography

The Republic of Singapore consists of the main island of Singapore and 58 nearby islands. It is a small island city-state in Southern Asia, located between Malaysia and Indonesia. The unique geographical position of Singapore - at one of the crossroads of the world, enhanced its position on the map of South Asia. Hills and valleys are predominant type of the terrain in the northern western part of Singapore, while the eastern part is characterised by sandy and flatter landscapes. There are no natural lakes, only artificial reservoirs, which have been created to meet the needs of the city. The climate is preferably tropical, hot, humid, and rainy.
